About
A few years ago I did a complete career change from the advertising world to being a Five Star concierge at the Rosewood Miramar. My contagious wonderment and love and knowledge of the area is what drew me to want the concierge job. I enjoy sharing with people in a way that enables them to experience its beauty, and in doing so stir their sense of wonderment, and curiosity and experiences of simply
joy available to them in Santa Barbara.
Growing up my family loved to travel and my father especially loved taking me to places he had traveled. He found such joy in sharing the things that made the places we visited so special. I used to think "wow he is spending all this time and money to do this again but it was to show me. I now get that joy.
A very scary time as a teenager in Capri my father and I had gotten separated and we kept circling the island looking for each other . It would be six hours as well as ten minutes before the last ferry to the mainland until we finally found our way back . Even as I grew older and our travels continued if I were lost there was my dad standing with his green umbrella. It seemed silly but he was right. I could always find him.
Several years ago my father passed suddenly and I sometimes wonder if he knew as he was on such a mission to have me experience places he found so joyful. As years passed I kept that umbrella but out of my sight. I knew no matter how hard I tried I would now no longer find him. Before it had represented such joy and adventure anvil and secret spots, everything fun was found under that umbrella.
I have loved working and sharing my experiences as a five star concierge at Rosewood Miramar. However, I was limited to just those that were staying at the Rosewood. I was very successful even shopped by Forbes with great reviews. I thought "why not bring that kind of service to all"....
